This tool calculates the total power for a set of any number of resistors in parallel.
Enter the
- Voltage and
- Resistor values, each separated by a comma
Formula
Rtotal = (1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 +…. + 1/Rn)-1
P = V2/Rtotal
Example Calculations
For a configuration with three resistors in parallel: 1 Ω, 6 Ω, 15 Ω, 20 Ω and 1 Volt source, the total power dissipation is 1.28 Watt.
If there’s only one resistor having 1 Ω value, the power dissipated is 1 Watt.
