Logitech MX Keys Not Connecting To Bluetooth

Problem

According to a user, the Logitech MX keys keyboard has issues connecting to Windows via Bluetooth. Shortly after logging in, the user notices that their MX Keys keyboard connects via Bluetooth, only to disconnect almost immediately.

This cycle repeats a few times, and eventually, after several minutes, the keyboard will stay connected and work without issue. However, it doesn’t always connect successfully. Occasionally, the user needs to disable and then re-enable the Bluetooth to get it to work.

Solution

Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue

  • Type “Device Manager” in the search box on the taskbar and select it from the menu.
  • Expand the Bluetooth section in Device Manager.
  • Right-click on the Bluetooth wireless adapter (e.g., “Dell Wireless XYZ adapter” or “Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth”).
  • Select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab in the Properties window.
  • Uncheck: Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  • Click OK to confirm the changes.
  • Restart the computer to apply the new settings.

Logitech MX Keys Not Turning On

Problem

MX keys keyboard has become completely unresponsive for some users. None of the keys light up, the main light doesn’t turn on, and the 1/2/3 connection lights don’t flash. There’s also no response when plugging in a USB-C charging cable; it’s as if the keyboard is completely dead.

Turning the keyboard off and on again and charging it with two different cables and chargers, but nothing seems to have any effect.

Solution

Please reset your MX keys keyboard by following the steps below:

To turn the keyboard off and on, follow these steps:

  • Press the following key combinations: Esc+O (release), Esc+O (release), Esc+B. The Easy Switch light will begin blinking continuously.
  • Turn the keyboard off and on again. Easy Switch 1 will blink continuously, indicating it is ready for pairing.
  • If the Easy Switch does not blink, repeat the steps above.

Pair the keyboard with the Unifying Receiver using the Unifying software, or pair the keyboard via Bluetooth.

Logitech MX keys Backlight Not Working

Problem

Logitech MX keys backlight stopped working suddenly for no apparent reason. The keyboard backlight flashes for 0.1 seconds when the brightness is set to 10%, but it doesn’t work.

Solution

Please ensure that your surrounding environment isn’t too bright. Also, the keyboard is sufficiently charged. Because the Logitech MX keys backlight turns off automatically if the environment is too bright or the MX keyboard’s charging is below 10%.

If the above mentioned issues aren’t the reason, we suggest you uninstall and reinstall the Logi Options+ software. It has resolved the backlight issue for many users.

Logitech MX Keys Not Charging

Problem

According to a Logitech MX keys user, the keyboard had been working well, with the battery lasting for weeks after each charge. A low battery indicator appeared for a few days, and after the keyboard stopped working entirely, it was plugged in for charging. However, it is now not charging.

Solution

Please replace the charging cable of the keyboard to rule out this possibility. If the cable is fine, use a magnifying glass or macro camera to see if the charging socket on the keyboard is debris-free. If you find any debris, try using a plastic dental pick or compressed air to remove it.

If the above-mentioned solution doesn’t help, you may need to buy a new battery for your keyboard. Before placing the new battery in the compartment on the motherboard, plug it into the keyboard before removing the old one. If the keyboard starts charging with the new battery, replace it with the older one.

Of course, you need to be careful while completing the procedure yourself. You can find a tutorial video on YouTube to help you go through the process.

Logitech MX Keys Receiver Not Working

Problem

The Logitech MX keys unifying receiver stopped working for no apparent reason. It didn’t work with any OS or appear in the device manager or the unifying software.

Solution

Please follow the steps below to fix the Logitech MX keys unifying receiver:

  • Connect the Logitech Unifying receiver to a different USB port on your computer.
  • Ensure that the drivers for the Logitech Unifying receiver are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the Logitech website.
  • Reset the receiver by pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the receiver for 5 seconds. The LED will blink red twice, indicating the reset has been completed.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider replacing the receiver. A replacement can be purchased from Amazon. Also, sometimes the receiver gets damaged due to sudden removal. In that case, buying a new one is the solution, too.

Logitech MX Keys Not Connecting To Bolt Receiver

Problem

The user attempted to connect their MX Keys Wireless Keyboard (currently connected via a Unifying receiver) to the Logi Bolt dongle attached to their MX Master 3s. However, the keyboard was undetected when trying to add a new device.

Solution

Logitech MX keys is a unifying product and can’t connect to the Logi Bolt receiver. Users confuse it with MX keys Mini and MX keys Business, which are compatible with Logi Bolt. On the other hand, standard MX keys can be connected only through a unifying receiver and Bluetooth.

Logitech MX Keys Not Connecting To Mac

Problem

Logitech MX keys don’t get connected or recognized by the MacBook Bluetooth. Resetting the Bluetooth on the MacBook didn’t help.

Solution

Try connecting the keyboard through a unifying receiver using Logi software. To regain Bluetooth connectivity, please press and hold the Fn and F1 keys simultaneously for some time. Holding down this key combination has helped multiple users.

Logitech MX Keys Keyboard Keys Not Working

Problem

A handful of users face this issue of keys not working on Logitech MX keys. Some users face problems with arrow keys, while others have issues with numpad and home keys. Some other users are having trouble using volume keys. Turning the keyboard off and back on for some users resolves the problem temporarily, but this fix doesn’t work in the long run.

Solution

Sometimes, filter keys are turned on accidentally (if your cat sits on the shift key for longer), which causes this issue of unresponsive keys.

To turn off the filter keys on the Logitech MX keys keyboard, follow these simple steps:

  • Open the Settings on the PC
  • Navigate to Ease of Access
  • Click on the Keyboard from the left-hand side panel
  • Disable the toggles under Filter Keys

Yet another solution is to remove debris under the keys using compressed air. You may need to disassemble the keyboard altogether (with the help of YouTube videos, of course) to remove the debris deep down.

Logitech MX Keys Easy Switch Not Working

Problem

The easy switches 1,2 and 3 aren’t working for some users. Resetting the keyboard somewhat resolved the issue by bringing the easy switch back to life. But easy switches 2 and 3 remain unresponsive.

Solution

Turn off the Fn lock on the Logitech MX keys keyboard to resolve this issue. To turn off this lock, press Fn+ESC. Please refer to the icons below that will appear on your keyboard to let you know whether the Fn lock is on or off.

Conclusion

Following the troubleshooting steps, most issues with the Logitech MX Keys keyboard can be resolved quickly. Whether it’s a connectivity problem or unresponsive keys, these solutions will help you restore full functionality and enjoy a seamless experience with your device.
